Be'er-Sheba, the main metropolis city in the southern Negev region of Israel, is quickly turning into a global Cyber-Tech leader. Five years in the making, a unique collaboration between academia, business and the Israeli government is attracting worldwide attention to the city. The Be'er-Sheba tech campus model might in fact be the only one of it's kind operating in the world today. The new Gav-Yam Negev technology park, known as the Cyber-Park, is a unique research and development hub based on collaboration between the renowned Ben-Gurion University (BGU), one of Israel's leading academic institutions; leading multinational corporations; the Israeli prestigious IT and technology units; Israel's national cyber directorate; and Gav-Yam, one of Israel's leading Science and Hi- Tech park developers. These entities are working together to create a one-of a kind technology hub that is already creating a big buzz around the world. This digital ecosystem is set to lead the way in security technologies, digital health and elderly care technologies, Smart Mobility and Autonomous vehicles and other technologies. BGU is taking a significant role in this tech oasis, as a co-founder of the park as well as with it's graduate program in cybersecurity research center. Leading multinational companies have identified the R&D potential this ecosystem has to offer. Such companies include IBM, Dell-EMC, Deutsche Telekom, Oracle, Elbit Systems, Leidos, JVP Cyber Labs and many others. There is also early Japanese involvement in the project, as one of the main founders in the creation of the Cyber-Park is KUD International, subsidiary of the Japanese Kajima Corporation, a leading developer with vast expertise in PPP projects (Public-Private Partnerships). KUD identified the potential of the project in time and set out to develop the Hi-Tech Park.
