Froma business perspective, we have seen an increasing number of commercial collaborations between Japanese and Israeli companies, more investments by Japanese companies in Israeli startups, and a growing presence of Japanese companies in Israel. Similarly, there are more Israeli companies operating in Japan or contemplating to commence operations in Japan. The presence of Japanese culture in Israel is also expanding. Japanese food is widespread in Israel; manga is becoming popular among the Israeli youth; and there aremore opportunities to see Japanese art in Israel, such as the exhibition of Yayoi Kusama at the Tel-Aviv Museum of Art that attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors. The launch of the Joint Study Group on the possibility of a Japan- Israel Economic Partnership Agreement further reinforces the warmth between the countries and desire to continue to build on the existing ties; and themuch-anticipated direct flight of Elal Airlines between Tokyo and Tel Aviv will surely add a significant contribution to this process. The Israel Japan Chamber of Commerce and Friendship Society (IJCCFS) is at the forefront of these activities and processes. The IJCCFS is a nonprofit organization that aims to promote and strengthen business and cultural connections between Israel and Japan. IJCCFS operates in collaboration with many organizations in the public and private sectors in both Japan and Israel, and as such, it serves as a true bridge for promotion of business and cultural activities.
