strategic level, based onmutual values, interests, and challenges. Our economic connections are growing rapidly. Japanese investments stream into Israel and offices of Japanese corporations are opening one after another in the last few years. On the other hand, more Israeli companies are entering the Japanese market, seeing the growth potential they can achieve in Japan. Looking ahead, we recently announced launching themutual feasibility study for an EPA agreement between our countries - the first step in the process of EPA negotiations. Reaching this achievement will open the door to much more trade and exchanges. We are also working to expand our ties in new fields, such as energy and infrastructure. Israel has issued new tenders and we call on Japanese corporations to explore the opportunities in Israel. Personally, my dream is to be able to ride the amazing Japanese transportationmeans in Israel and to take a Shinkansen from Kiryat Shmona to Eilat. Next month, the direct flights between Tel Aviv and Narita will finally take off. This is yet another strategic step that will bring us closer than ever before. I am confident that together with the many good people that take part in developing the cooperation between Israel and Japan, from the government, private sector, academia, andmore, we will be able to continue to break new records. It is safe to say that the future of our ties looks very bright, and I feel it is just the beginning.
