27 between bed centers was 1.8 m, between rows 40 cm and 45 cm between plants (24691 plants/ha). Plants were single stem trained on a wire frame. Planting was on 20/9/2015 and initially all treatments received a uniform irrigation until 11/10/2015 when treatments started. The irrigation system consisted of 0.6 l/h drippers spaced 15 cm along the laterals of each row. The liquid fertilizer used was 5N:3P:8K + 0.5%Mg enriched with microelements (Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu and Mo). The fertilizer was diluted and injected continuously into the irrigation water from a central tank, at a uniform concentration to all treatments. The concentration of the injected fertilizer increased gradually during subsequent days of growth as follows: 0.05% in the first 4 days after planting, 1% in the next 85 days, 1.5% in the next 19 days and 2% in the final 127 days. Fruit was harvested once a week for 147 days (20/12/2015 - 15/5/2016). Shelf life was evaluated 4 times after 12 day storage at 12 oC followed by 3 days at 20 oC. Data collected included records of irrigation dates and volumes, soil water tension in the -8 kPa and -15 kPa treatments, total and marketable yield and number of clusters. Non-marketable fruit was graded as small, green, split, single and blossom-end rot fruit. The soil was sampled at the end of the experiment at 15 cm intervals down to 90 cm for salinity and water content measurement.
