China buys stake in Western Australia’s water supply China is now officially a shareholder in the company that supplies water to all of Western Australia, one of the massive continent’s largest regions, Their entry into WA’s water supply came about after Chinese investors Beijing Enterprises Water Group acquired Australian water company TRILITY, and with it a 25% share in the Helena Water treatment facility, that feeds the pipeline to Kalgoorlie. a city in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia, located 595 km (370 mi) east-northeast of Perth at the end of the Great Eastern Highway. Helena Water, which counted Spain’s ACCIONA Agua and Britain’s Lloyds Bank as original partners alongside TRILITY, entered into a so-called public- private partnership with the Barnett government to build and operate the new facility for 35 years before returning it to government ownership. The deal was struck in 2011 and in 2014 the $300 million plant started treating 10 gigalitres of water a year from the Mundaring Weir, groundwater, a desalination plant and the Lower Helena catchment zone. About 100,000 people in the Perth Hills, Kalgoorlie and agricultural areas rely on the water. Ami-Tens Ltd., Hahadarim, 48 , Ashdod, Israel.
