Mumbai.In 1956,the Consulate General of
Israel was opened inMumbai,leading eventually
to the setting up of the Embassy of Israel
in New Delhi in 1992, when full diplomatic
relations were established between the two

closet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi

to partner with its defense industry
Defense and Homeland Security being are
themost important pillars of this relationship.
How Things Started…
The relationship in Defense between the two
countries started with modernization and
up-gradation of Russian-origin equipment in
the inventory of the Indian Armed Forces in
all the three services with western advanced
electronics systems.Israel had mastered the
art of integration due to its Russian immigrant
population and acquisition of these platforms
in battle.
Over a period of time, Israel designed and
manufactured equipment namely targeting
pods,precision guided bombs,UAVs / drones,
sophisticated radars, communication & EW
systems. These were deployed by Indian
forces that increased its overall capability and
lethality and extended the life of the platform.
Israel is one of the first countries to
implement the‘Make in India’vision of Prime
Minister Modi.
